This course is aimed at practicing electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require an update on training.
It will prepare candidates for all aspects of periodic inspection of electrical installation work.

This unit is designed to enable learners to understand principles, practices and legislation for periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting of electrical installations with statutory and non-statutory regulations and requirements. Its content is the knowledge needed by a learner to underpin the application of skills of the periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting of electrical installations
On successful completion of the course candidates will be able to:
- Understand the requirements for periodic inspection and testing
- Understand safety management procedures when undertaking periodic inspection and testing
- Understand the requirements for the periodic inspection of electrical installation
- Understand the requirements for testing electrical installations during periodic inspection and testing
- Perform periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations
Candidates will be expected to complete and pass a combined practical and answer paper along with an online examination to gain this qualification.
The online exam will be offered in the evening at 6pm and the practical/question paper will be completed on a one to one session arranged with the tutor out with the course.
What you need to qualify for entry...
Candidates must possess a 17th Edition (or previous) qualification or have a working knowledge of electrical installations.
It would be expected that candidates also have a basic knowledge and understanding of electrical science and principles and experience of electrical installation work either within the electrical contracting industry or an allied trade.
