A fabulous 2016 Summer Awards ceremony for non-advanced level students at Glasgow Kelvin College took place on Friday at Glasgow City Chambers.
Over 160 excited students from four faculties were nominated by their lecturers to be presented with College Awards at the busy Summer Awards 2016 Ceremony, where they were cheered on by friends and family.
College staff, partners, employers, elected members, schools and other stakeholder organisations were in attendance to lend their support. A range of employer partners had sponsored trades awards, including CMPE, SPOA, Pump Action Ltd, SNIPEF, HRP Ltd and Vokera for which the College was extremely grateful.
The annual John Wheatley Awards, sponsored by Wheatley Group, Robert Bennie Trust and Parkhead Nazarene Church, were also awarded to students who had overcome significant challenges in order to achieve their qualifications.
Congratulating the students, Principal Alan Sherry said;
“To every one of our students, Glasgow Kelvin College is delighted to be part of your learning process and honoured to have been able to support you on this part of your journey.
Your achievement and success is the concrete evidence of our ambition and excellence and our heartfelt congratulations go to each and every one of you.”
