Welcome from Alan Sherry, Principal
It gives me real pleasure to welcome you to the new website for Glasgow Kelvin College – Glasgow’s newest and most dynamic place of learning. We hope this website will provide you with the information you’ll need for your learning journey.
On 1st November 2013, three great Glasgow learning organisations (John Wheatley, North Glasgow and Stow Colleges) came together to form Glasgow Kelvin College, serving the communities of North and East Glasgow and beyond. We are committed to bringing you the very best learning experience in a supportive and ambitious environment. With campuses in five key areas of Glasgow – Cowcaddens in the city, Maryhill, Springburn, Easterhouse and Dennistoun in the East of the city, we have combined our expertise to ensure you receive a high quality level of vocational and personal development skills which will help you to compete in today’s challenging jobs market or support you on to further, more advanced, learning.
The range of programmes available is designed to meet the needs of learners of all ages and all levels of ability, from introductory tasters and National Qualifications, through Higher Nationals, right up to degree level qualifications, part-time and full-time. For many of our students, classes will continue to be free of charge or fees will be highly subsidised – details about finance and grants are available here or through our Guidance Advice Team.
Our staff will continue to work with our stakeholders, communities and employers to make sure that the skills and qualifications we deliver are relevant and valued. We welcome visits from potential learners to our buildings. You can come in, have a look around and talk to our staff and students to get a better idea of how Glasgow Kelvin College can help you get back into learning. We’re sure you’ll find a college that puts YOU at the centre of its services, promoting Excellence in learning, supporting Progression opportunities and developing an Enterprising spirit in our students!
