My love for my homeland, the Isle-of-Lewis, fuelled the inspiration behind my final collection. I concentrated on five attractions from the Outer Hebrides – The Callanish Stones, The Lewis Chessmen, St Kilda, Sheep and Peats. I looked at structure and silhouettes within the attractions, and used these to inspire the shaping within my designs.
In order to create exclusive textiles I have designed unusual digital printed fabric unique to each outfit, which will feature throughout the collection. The colour palette is quite natural, and the colours have been combined in a way that keeps the collection modern in appearance.
The collection is for Autumn/Winter 2015 and has been designed with the aim of attracting women between the ages of 18-30 who enjoy wearing clothing with a tailored feel. The aim of my collection is to bring the Outer Hebrides into fashion through use of edgy designs and quirky fabric prints.
