Team MADE at our Barbering Academy had the pleasure of hosting a visit from Adam Sloan - CEO @ Mens Hairdressing Federation (MHFed), Chairman of City and Guilds Barbering Industry Board, Salon Owner, Educator and a very proud talented hands on Barber. Accompanying Adam was City and Guilds, Emma Kite - Technical Adviser for Hairdressing and Beauty and Kerry Bamber - Business Development Manger Scottish Region.
An amazing day of collaboration showcasing what we do at the Academy, brainstorming new ideas for industry lead courses and networking. Great fun was had engaging with some of our past and present academy trainees who were in awe of meeting an industry legend. Discussion around delivering creative, unique and quality training for those within or entering the barbering industry was our key focus and with 7 industry experienced enthusiasts around a table ideas and chat was at full flow!!
Our visitors took a tour of Kelvins East End campus later in the day and were just wowed by our staff, students, facilities and just general enthusiasm to inspiring and educating our learners. We cant thank our visitors enough for all their input throughout the day endorsing our Academy ethos whist sharing their experiences, new ideas along with nurturing what we already do.
Hot of the press from the day is Tracy Leavy and Alan Findlay are registered to present at the 'TeachMeet' on 6th June in Paisley ran by UWS supported by College Development Network with 'MADE: Collaborative Barber Training' being our topic. For Adam and City and Guilds to invest so much time and energy into our academy is invaluable in growing our barber training portfolio along with bringing such great banter and inspiration for all at TEAM MADE! - the good news for us is they cant wait to return!
