Following intensive collaboration with Microsoft Education on digital skills development for all staff, Glasgow Kelvin College is delighted and impressed to learn that the Microsoft Industry Blogs UK site is hosting a lively and informative contribution from Audrey Miller, its Vice Principal for Human Resources and Organisational Development.
Audrey’s blog outlines the importance of the role of further education in the delivery of skills to prepare students for digital transformation in the workplace. It underscores how the College continues to embed this within its staff development and training, creating digitally-skilled educators.
At its most recent Staff Conference, the College was delighted to welcome Microsoft and a host of other valued partners; XMA, Hewlett-Packard, SmartSTEMs, Seric, Beyonder, and JP Morgan who, through a series of engaging workshops, delivered a comprehensive introduction to Microsoft 365 and other tools in preparation for Skills 4.0. The aim is to ensure that the College and its staff are equipped to embrace the new challenges of Skills 4.0 in the digital age. The blog outlines the process and celebrates that more than 200 staff members signed up as Microsoft Innovator Educators.
Now part of Microsoft UK’s Showcase Teaching Programme, Glasgow Kelvin College is delighted to join this with three fellow UK college institutions, who will use Microsoft 365 to improve accessibility, collaboration and communication, increasing digital skills in classrooms. https://news.microsoft.com/en-gb/2019/11/07/uk-schools-join-microsoft-programme-that-uses-tech-to-help-students-learn/
This achievement has involved a considerable effort on the part of those involved in developing and establishing and the College appreciates their hard work and expertise. College Staff are looking forward enthusiastically to future developments at their forthcoming Professional Development Conference. To find out more, see Audrey Miller’s blog at:
