Young people attending the Transitions to Learning and Work programme in Easterhouse Campus worked in pairs to discuss different aspects of what makes a community. They discussed the services, people, businesses and issues they could identify from their own experiences.
Throughout Block 1 the young people will be asked to plan outings to different services in the local community during their youth work classes. These activities encourage the learners to work effectively together and participate more confidently in group work. Learners are supported to influence their own curriculum by trying new activities, choosing topics they are interested in and working towards a range of qualifications, including Youth Achievement Awards, Community Achievement Awards and SQA units.
