Students from Glasgow Kelvin College's Photography and Fashion departments were delighted to welcome world renowned "street style" photographer, Jonathan Daniel Pryce AKA Garcon Jon to deliver a motivating talk about his phenomenal career.
Starting out with only a basic camera and a tumbler blog, he set up Les Garcon Des Glasgow, photographing style on the streets of his home town. Just over 10 years later he has shot all over the world from Milan and Paris to New York, published 3 books, and boasts an impressive client list from Vogue to GQ. Jonathan spoke about his experiences breaking into the industry and offered valuable advice on dealing with rejection and harsh criticism and how he manages to turn these into positive learning experiences.
The auditorium was packed with photography and Fashion students from both our Springburn and Easterhouse campuses and each left enthused and inspired by Garcon Jon's experiences.
Lecturer , Simon Murphy, described the event as
"Such a positive and valuable visit, one that may be the spark that ignites some of our student's careers."
