This week seen a flurry of evening activity at our barbering academy with students staying late to prepare entries for a high profile international competition. Hosted by a collaboration between MHfed (the Mens Hairdressing Federation) and City and Guilds entries were welcomed in varied categories, our lot 'Trainee Barber of the Year'. Students Ryan, David, Scott, Martin and Lisa were up for the challenge to submit the required before and after image of a 'Cut and Style'.
With models at the ready the academy was buzzing with excitement and nerves quickly overtaken by enthusiastic focus as the scissors and clippers went to work under our students creative hands. Tracy Leavy and Graham Jack were on hand to support and were proud to watch these very talented young barbers enjoying the experience of working under competition pressures whilst creating some impressive looks any barber would be proud to produce.
Simon Murphy's HND photography students , Ivan Chirsanov and Jacqueline Shaw, offered their services to create our competition entries. Great effort was made creating the right atmosphere and lighting to shoot that 'winning' image, a very professional job done with huge MADE thanks.
All in all a fun, creative, experiential and proud evening for staff and students at MADE. Have we got a winner? - we think so but all in the judges hands. Final Images will be released post judging on 14th Feb 2020 - for now its literally all under the 'hat'!!.
