The NPA in Computer Games Design at Level 4 can be undertaken without previous experience of computer games development. However, a basic computing knowledge and skills would be beneficial.
The NPA is an introductory award suitable for all learners. No prior knowledge or experience is required.
- Computer Games - Design: Here you will learn a basic understanding of underlying concepts and fundamental principles involved in computer game planning and design.
- Computer Games - Media Assets: Here you will learn an understanding of the different types of media assets required for developing a computer game. You will develop basic knowledge and skills that will allow you to identify legitimate methods for acquiring media assets and learn how to plan and produce media assets for use in a game development environment.
- Computer Games - Development: Here you will learn to gain foundational knowledge and acquire skills in developing a basic computer game using a game development tool.

The course is intended for a wide range of learners who may continue into further study of computer games or pursue a career in the computer games industry. It is particularly suitable for learners who wish to develop skills in the production of media assets for computer games.
Successful completion of the course may help you progress into further study of computer games design or pursue a career in the computer games industry.
The course brings together the Planning, Completion and Evaluation of Computer Games Development.
The course also includes an element of Robotics to introduce to you to basic coding within games design.
