Great Recognition for Kelvin at CDN Awards!

08/12/2022

Two Glasgow Kelvin College projects were recognised at the recent CDN Awards held in November.

The initiative, Making Jewellery In A Digital World gained a 'Highly Commended' award in their category of Digital Learning Award, sponsored by Jisc, for their approach to learning online throughout the pandemic. The Jewellery team put the College's CAD system to good use and an instructive 'how to' visual aid helped to guide the class towards their success in their course. This drive towards innovation during lockdown has been a real and continuing asset to the course. In this case, Necessity was certainly the mother of Invention! A short video can be seen here:

The winner of the category was Edinburgh College's 'VR Dementia Awareness Programme'.

In addition, our excellent Community & Youth Hubs at both Springburn and Easterhouse were also up for an award in the College Community Learning Award category and the team was delighted to carry off a 'Commended' award against stiff competition from West College Scotland who won the category.

A huge Well Done to those involved in both of these initiatives - this is great recognition of the work the College continues to do to support its students and local residents during what have been very challenging times.

In addition, congratulations go to all the winners and the very worthy projects across the sector who were selected as nominees from 160 entrants throughout Scotland.
