PDA ADVANCED CRAFT CARPENTRY & JOINERY
This Course is a stand-alone qualification that will enhance your theoretical and practical skill for anyone that has completed Professional Development Award Level 6 and SVQ level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery.
This Professional Development Award Level 7 in Carpentry and Joinery is for those who wish to enhance their skills achieved in level 6 as this award is offered here as a stand-alone certificate.
What you need to qualify for entry...
Aimed at craft apprentices who have gained SVQ level 3 within the relevant craft
Entry to this course will depend on successful performance at interview
Currently in full time employment within the construction industry to undertake this course.
The programme consists of the following units:
- Construction Technical Communication Skills
- High Class finishing’s
- Complex roof Construction
- Specialist Doors
- New and Sustainable Building technologies
- Windows and screens
- Site Measuring and setting out
- Complex Timber stairs with tapered treads
Block Release - The programme will run for a total of 11 x 1 week blocks within the academic year

August - June.
At SCQF Level 7, the PDA provides increased articulation and opportunities for progression to Higher National Certificate Awards and enhances employment opportunities within the construction industry.
