Glasgow Kelvin College is proud to announce that it has won a Green Gown Award at the 2025 ceremony in Birmingham, recognising excellence in sustainability across the education sector.
The College received the award in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion category for its innovative project, ‘Cycling for All’.
The project was developed to make cycling more accessible to learners who may otherwise have been unable to take part. By removing barriers and providing inclusive opportunities to get involved in cycling, the initiative has supported both physical wellbeing and sustainable transport across the College community.
Led by Sarah Shea, Amrit Bedhi, and Grant Sutherland, the project demonstrates how sustainability and inclusion can go hand in hand — creating lasting positive impact for students and staff alike.
Alongside Fife College, Glasgow Kelvin was one of only two Scottish colleges recognised in this year’s awards, and one of just four winners across all Scottish colleges and universities.
This achievement reflects Glasgow Kelvin College’s continued commitment to sustainability, community wellbeing, and equal access to opportunity.
