Glasgow Kelvin College is the key provider of accessible vocational and core-skills learning in the north and east of the city. We deliver high-quality introductory to degree-level programmes to around 15,000 students each year from four campus buildings and through a large network of community-based centres. Engaging with communities which experience high levels of deprivation, the College works with partners to create inclusive progression opportunities in a vibrant and sustainable environment for the learners, communities, and stakeholders which we serve.
Lecturer - Health Care (Permanent 0.5FTE; 17.5 hours per week)
Salary £35,170 - £43,357 pa pro rata per annum (subject to qualifications and experience)

You should have experience in providing flexible and innovative approaches to the delivery of the curriculum and recent, relevant industrial experience practising in adult nursing.
You will be expected to deliver a wide range of programmes including HNC and therefore you should possess a relevant HND, degree or post graduate qualification (SQA Level 8 or above) or a vocational equivalent in adult nursing. Alternatively, you will possess suitable and relevant current industrial experience and/or training in the specific field of adult nursing.
In addition, you should possess a formal teaching qualification or will be required to undertake and complete a Teaching Qualification in Further Education (TQFE) in the first two years of employment or within a reasonable timescale.

The post will involve you contributing to the curriculum activity within the Faculty of Engineering, Construction & Science and be responsible for the following:
- The training and assessment of students
- The development and production of learning and assessment material
- Administration duties in relation to curriculum
- The learning experience of the students
- Ensuring all Quality Policies and Procedures are implemented
- Recording and monitoring student progress
It is essential you are highly motivated and prepared to contribute as part of a team to the continued development of the curriculum as it evolves to meet the needs of learners and industry.
Essential Criteria
You should be educated to SCQF Level 8 or relevant professional equivalent in the specialist area; or have significant relevant experience in the specialist area as an alternative to formal qualifications.
You would be required to teach and support students in a wide range of Physics and Electrical Engineering courses including Access, NC, HNC and HND level. Additionally, you should be comfortable teaching Mathematics and Numeracy to SCQF Level 6.
You must be self-motivated and reliant and have a desire to provide an excellent student experience. You should possess effective interpersonal skills and be able to communicate learning to individuals with a variety of learning styles.
Desirable Criteria
Teaching experience and relevant qualifications such as Teaching Qualification in Further Education (TQFE) or equivalent would be an advantage. Student Counsellor – 35 hours per week
Salary: £28,328 - £31,819 pa - Fixed Term until 31 July 2023 (Funded Post)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Student Support Services. As Student Counsellor you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering a wellbeing and counselling service to learners in line with the Access and Inclusion Strategy and the whole College approach to Mental Health.
The successful candidate should have qualifications in:
- BACP/COSCA registered and accredited counsellor (or, have the potential to re-register in a short timescale)
- Diploma level counselling qualification
- Be able to provide evidence of continuous professional development
Experience of:
- working in a Mental Health service
- crisis intervention
- working in an educational setting
- working as part of a team to deliver objective and targets
- developing and maintaining a range of internal and external partnerships
- working with a diversity of client groups and a wide range of clients of all ages and backgrounds
