The College can confirm that tragically a member of our staff has died following a motor vehicle accident on a study visit to Slovenia.
Anne Porter was a highly regarded and well-loved Head of Faculty for Engineering, Construction and Science who contributed greatly to the development of Glasgow Kelvin College since its formation. Anne had overseen a number of innovations in the Faculty curriculum and led the creation of the Kelvin Innovation Centre for Innovation in Engineering. She was a popular member of staff who was very supportive of both colleagues and students and will be greatly missed.
Ian Patrick, Chair of the Board of Management said:
“I have known Anne for over 25 years, firstly as a colleague at Bell College and then as a key member of staff at Glasgow Kelvin College. We are all shocked and saddened by this tragic event and Anne’s family are foremost in our thoughts.
We are doing all we can to provide support for them at this sad time.”
