It’s been another busy week at Glasgow Kelvin College!
We were excited to celebrate National Bike Week UK! It was a great opportunity to highlight the social, health and environmental benefits of cycling.
The College took part of this national event by running free Dr Bike sessions on 3 campuses, at West-End, Springburn and East-End.
As usual, students, staff and the local communities were given the opportunity to get a FREE maintenance check on their bikes by a skilled mechanic.
These events were, once again, very successful and more than 15 bikes checked over. Sandra, our new Active Travel Officer, was also able to engage with staff and students to raise awareness about cycling and active travel.
A huge thank you to those who attended the sessions over the last few months and who are supporting cycling activities at the College! Thanks to Lambhill stables, Bike for Good and On Bikes for their collaboration.
The Dr Bike sessions will return at the beginning of the new academic year 2019/20, stay tuned!
