'Giving an Hour for Springburn' community litter pick, organised by Community Safety Glasgow in partnership with the College, took place on Tuesday 4th December. It was great to have several students, members of College staff, and the local nursery involved on the day. Our aim was to take action and clean up some of the badly littered areas around the College, Springburn Rail station, and all the way up to the local shopping centre.
It was amazing to see what could be achieved in such a short space of time by the effort of those taking part. Still, the problem of litter remains, and means we will continue to organise this community led event to tidy up our surrounding spaces in the very near future.
We hope to see more members of the local community getting involved next time. This will help to raise awareness on the issue of waste, and also increase the level of positive impact that can be achieved.
