Student Account Information

The following page outlines the process for getting access to your user account for session 2020/21.

1.  You need to have enrolled on a course.  If you haven’t enrolled on a course then please contact admissions@glasgowkelvin.ac.uk for further information.
2.  If you have enrolled on a course then you should have received an email from the ICT team.  The email address is from noreply@glasgowkelvin.ac.uk with the subject of ‘Welcome to Glasgow Kelvin College’

This email contains the following information:

    1. Your College username (i.e. joebloggs***@glasgowkelvin.ac.uk)
    2. How to work out your password
    3. How to setup Self Service Password Reset (which allows you to regain access to your account if you forget your changed password)
    4. And other useful links

Please check your spam or junk email folders in case the email has been placed there instead of your Inbox.

3.  If you have enrolled but can’t find the email from ICT or are having problems changing your password then please email ictservicedesk@glasgowkelvin.ac.uk describing your issue.

You may find one of the options below useful

1. Register for Self-service Password Reset (SSPR)

Your default password is not very secure - Self-Service Password Reset will allow you to change your password to one which is less easy for people to guess. When you register for SSPR it will let you change password later if you forget it.

You can watch a video on how to set up SSPR here

2. How to reset your password with Self-service Password Reset (SSPR)

If you have set up SSPR on your account and you need to reset you password, click on this link, and follow the on-screen instructions:
http://www.glasgowkelvin.ac.uk/forgottenpassword/

You can’t reset your password yourself if you haven’t set up SSPR on your account beforehand.

3.  MyKelvin Portal

Log into MyKelvin - again with your College email address and password - by going to https://mykelvin.glasgowkelvin.ac.uk . MyKelvin is the College's Student information portal. It provides Students with a range of information on things like Library Services, the Student Association, Finance and Funding.

We suggest that you visit the Getting Started page on MyKelvin as this will show you what apps you should download and provide general information about IT systems at Glasgow Kelvin.
