BBC Scotland - Des Doesn't Do
Catriona Aird was approached by BBC Scotland back in April to see if she could help them with a programme entitled 'Des Doesn't Do Parenting'.
They wanted to borrow the college's 'Ready or not Tot' and we were happy to provide this and go over the instructions with the BBC team. At this time they were also looking for ideas in terms of parenting experiences and Catriona put them in touch with our partners in the Rising Stars nursery at Blairtummock.
As a result of this, 10 lucky children got to spend the day with Des in a soft play centre in the Eastend of Glasgow. The children had a fantastic time and Catriona is sure it will make for entertaining viewing!
‘Des Doesn’t Do…Parenting’ which includes the robotic babies will be on the new BBC Scotland Channel at 8.30p pm on Thursday 3rd October.
The Early Education and Childcare Partnership Event
The Early Education and Childcare team are hosting a partnership event on the 11th of October, from 9.00 am until 2.30 pm at our East End Campus.
The event is the first of four that will take place during this academic session. The event is being organised for Glasgow City Council who are putting 100 newly appointed Support for Learning Workers though a comprehensive induction programme.
The attendees will register at 9.00 am with help from Nancy at reception and will also receive a buffet lunch which will be supplied by our catering students.
In advance of this event, Catriona would like to thank Nancy , our catering staff and students, John and the rooms team and all lecturers who have been moved from their normal classes to help us accommodate this large event.
The 2nd year and 1st year Foundation Apprentices: Children and Young people, achieved their Heartstart course on Thursday the 12th of September.
