What to expect in College Session 2021/22
What is Blended Learning?
Blended learning provides a combination of face-to-face learning on-campus (for practical activities) and dynamic digital activities and content that allows you to learn anytime, anyplace. In our case, we use Microsoft Teams as our online engagement platform – it’s a bit like Zoom but has a lot of additional functions and resources for your learning materials.
For those of you who have practical or vocational skills in your course which can’t be delivered online, your timetable will show which workshop or classroom you will be using for these. Some COVID19 restrictions remain in our campus buildings and you should make yourself aware of these through our website.
To ease us back into the new academic session, Blended Learning will be in place for the first teaching block and it will be reviewed in October.
At your first class, which will be delivered on Teams, you’ll get to meet your classmates and your lecturer online for the first session and your lecturer will provide presentations, tutorials and discussions.
The great thing about Teams is that you can set up discussion groups or simply chat with your classmates online.
Our Support Service Departments are also available for appointments on Teams which will allow you to access staff, during working hours, in a confidential environment.
