A friendly and supportive course to help you grow in confidence and learn new skills for life
This course is for young people who are ready to move on from school and want to keep learning in a safe and welcoming college setting.
You’ll take part in a wide range of fun and practical subjects, such as Cookery, Art, Drama, Music, Business, IT, and Numeracy. Classes are small, and staff will help you learn at your own pace.
You’ll also work on group projects that change each year, giving you the chance to be creative, make friends, and build skills that will help you in everyday life and future learning.
This course is designed for learners who:
- Have a learning disability and need extra support in their studies.
- Are working at SCQF Level 1 or 2.
- Would like to continue learning after school in a caring college environment.
- Want to build confidence, independence, and life skills for the future.
What you will learn
You’ll take part in lessons and activities to help you learn about:
- Cookery – preparing simple, healthy meals.
- Art and Drama – expressing your ideas and creativity.
- IT and Business – using computers and learning about work.
- Music – enjoying rhythm, sound, and teamwork.
- Numeracy – practising everyday maths skills.
- Communication – building confidence when speaking and writing.
You’ll also do project work with your classmates to learn how to plan, share ideas, and work together
Entry requirements
✅ You do not need any formal qualifications.
✅ You should:
- Have a learning disability.
- Be able to work at Level 1 or 2 with support.
All applications will be considered, and staff will meet with you to make sure this is the right course for your needs.
