A caring and practical course to help you build everyday skills, confidence, and independence.
This full-time course is designed for young people who are ready to continue learning after school in a safe, supportive college environment.
You’ll learn through fun, hands-on activities in subjects like Enterprise, Cookery, IT, Drama, Environment, and Art. The course helps you keep building the skills you learned at school and prepares you for adult life and future learning.
Each year includes project-based work chosen by the class, so you can work together, share ideas, and be creative.
This course is for learners who:
- Have a learning disability and benefit from extra support.
- Are working at SCQF Level 1 or 2, but need a little more help.
- Want to develop everyday skills and confidence for adult life.
- Enjoy learning by doing and being part of a friendly group
What you will learn
You’ll take part in a variety of activities to build your confidence and independence:
- Cookery – making simple, healthy meals.
- IT and Enterprise – using computers and learning about simple work tasks.
- Drama and Art – expressing yourself creatively.
- Environmental Studies – learning about nature and the world around you.
- Communication Skills – talking, listening, and working with others.
- Numeracy and Everyday Maths – using numbers in real-life situations.
You’ll also work on small group projects and learn how to plan and complete tasks together.
Entry requirements
✅ No formal qualifications are required.
✅ You should:
- Have a learning disability.
- Be working at Level 1 or 2, but need additional support.
Staff will meet with you to make sure this is the right course for your needs and that you’ll get the right support to succeed.
