About the Support for Learning Department

At the Department of Support for Learning, we provide a variety of full-time courses tailored to students at SCQF Levels 1 to 4. Our programs are designed to foster independence and strengthen essential life skills for adults, with a particular focus on post-school transition. Additionally, we offer courses that help develop employability skills, frequently in connection with volunteering opportunities and external partnerships within the community.

Our staff are student focussed, experienced and look forward to working with you at one of our campuses (East End, Easterhouse)

How to Apply

Once we receive your application, we will invite you to attend an interview. During this interview, we will discuss your additional support needs and the level of assistance you may require while studying at college. Based on this information, our staff will determine the most appropriate course for you. If a place is available, you will receive a formal course offer.

Entry Requirements

Our entry requirements are dependent on the level at which the student is currently working. Our courses are designed to support both academic and social development, so our application and interview process focuses on assessing your suitability for the course. For our level 3 and 4 learners we would expect that they would be working towards independent travel, in order to complete their compulsory work placement. We are committed to providing the right support for each learner’s unique needs.

Students Take on Fast Fashion at Glasgow Goes Green 🌍

Students from Skills for Learning, Life and Work 2 recently took part in the Glasgow Goes Green Festival at the University of Glasgow, raising awareness of the environmental impact of fast fashion.

As part of the event, they created handmade notebooks using recycled textiles, giving new life to materials that would otherwise have gone to landfill. They also shared simple, practical ways to reduce clothing waste — from repairing and reusing items to choosing second-hand and sustainable options.

By selling their notebooks, the group raised £80 for TRAID, a charity supporting sustainable fashion and improving conditions for garment workers.

A fantastic effort from our students, showcasing creativity, teamwork and a real commitment to sustainability.
