About the Civil Engineering Department

Civil Engineering focuses on the design, construction and maintenance of the infrastructure that supports everyday life — from roads and bridges to buildings and water systems.

At Glasgow Kelvin College, our Civil Engineering courses develop the practical and technical skills needed to work in this essential sector. You’ll gain experience in areas such as materials testing, surveying and construction technologies, while building an understanding of how projects are planned, designed and delivered.

This area offers clear progression routes into further study, including HNC/HND level, as well as careers in construction, infrastructure and the built environment.
